GENERAL APPEARANCE: A small, compact and slightly rectangular dog. Known to mature late.     A small, compact, smooth coated breed that is slightly rectangular in shape, the Danish-Swedish Farmdog is a breed known to mature quite late. N/A
IMPORTANT PROPORTIONS: The body should be slightly rectangular, 9:10. The proportions between depth of chest and height at withers should be 1:2.       N/A
BEHAVIOUR / TEMPERAMENT: Alert, attentive and lively.     Alert, intelligent, attentive and lively. N/A
Head Head should be triangular in shape and a bit small in proportion to body.     The head is triangular in shape and slightly small in proportion to the size of the body. N/A
CRANIAL REGION: Skull: Rather broad and slightly rounded.
Stop: Well defined.
    SKULL - The skull is fairly broad between the ears. It is only slightly rounded. The cheeks are well filled and slightly pronounced, without exaggeration. The stop is well marked. N/A
FACIAL REGION: Nose: Colour in accordance with colour of patches.
Muzzle: Well developed and gradually narrowing towards nose but must not give a snipy impression. Muzzle slightly shorter than the skull. Nosebridge straight.
Jaws/teeth: Jaws strong. Scissors bite with even and well developed incisors. Pincer bite tolerated.
Cheeks: Pronounced without exaggeration.
Eyes: Medium sized, slightly rounded, neither protruding nor sunken. Attentive and kind expression. Dark eye colour in dogs with black patches. Slightly lighter eye colour permissible in dogs with yellow or liver brown patches.
Ears: Medium sized. Rose or button, in both cases the fold should be just above the skull. Button ears: The tips should lie close to cheeks.
    MUZZLE - The muzzle is well developed and slightly shorter than the skull. It narrows gradually from the eyes to the nose but must never give a snipy appearance. The nasal bone is straight.
TEETH - The Danish-Swedish Farmdog has a powerful jaw with well developed incisors and a scissors or level bite.
NOSE - The color of the nose is in accordance with the color of the coat patches.
EYES - The eyes are medium in size and slightly rounded in shape, being neither protruding nor sunken. The color should be as dark as possible, though in dogs that have yellow or liver patches a somewhat lighter eye is acceptable. The expression is attentive and kind.
EARS - The ears are medium in size, either rose or button, and very mobile. In both, the fold should be just above the line of the skull.
In button ears the tip should lie close to the cheek. Fault: Prick ears.

NECK: Of medium length, strong and slightly arched. No throatiness.     The neck is clean, strong, slightly arched and medium in length. Fault: Neck too long N/A
BODY: Compact with good substance.
Loin: Short, broad and slightly arched.
Croup: Slightly rounded.
Chest: Long, deep and roomy with well sprung ribs. Forechest well defined.
Underline and belly: Belly only slightly tucked up.
    The body is compact, with good substance. In proportion, it is slightly longer than tall in a ratio of 10:9. The chest is long, deep and roomy. The ribs are very well sprung. The forechest is well-defined. The loin is short, broad and slightly arched, and the croup is slightly rounded. Belly is only slightly tucked up. Faults: Elegant general appearance. TAIL: Not set too high. Long tail or naturally short (stumpy tail). Tail should be carried straight, with a slight curve or like a sickle.     The tail is not set too high. The tail may be naturally long or naturally bobbed. It should be carried straight, with a slight curve or in a sickle shape. Faults: Curled tail, or tail carried flat on the back. N/A
LIMBS : FOREQUARTERS:
General appearance: Forelegs straight and parallel. The front is broader than the ribcage.
Shoulders: Oblique.
Upper arm: Oblique.
Metacarpus (Pastern): Strong and springy.

Forefeet: Small, oval and not tightly knit.
    The feet are small and oval. The toes are not tightly knit. N/A
HINDQUARTERS : General appearance: Well angulated knee and hock joints. Parallel and well muscled.
Upper thighs: Fairly broad.
Hind feet: See front feet.
    The hindquarters are parallel and well muscled.
HIND LEGS - The upper thighs are broad. There is good angulation at the stifle and hock joints.

COAT: HAIR: Short and smooth. Harsh on body.
COLOUR: White dominating. Patches of different colours, sizes and combinations permissible, (black, tan, brown and different shades of fawn). With or without tan markings. Flecking permissible.

    Height at the withers for males is 13.25-14.5 inches. (34-37cm).
For females, it is 12.5 to 14 inches. (32-35cm)
There is a tolerance of .75 inches in either direction (+/- 2cm).
